One of the programs we offer is artist in Residence facilities. Below are the requirements for one to become and artist in residence:

Become One of Wayi Wayi’s Visiting Artists in Residence. Application Requirements include an artist statement and bio accompanied by a letter of intent for a time in a residence as well as preferred dates for residency. Please note that all visiting artists have an option to participate in mentorship to the community through Wayi Wayi’s existing class schedule.

Eligible Applicants include Zambian and international artists of all disciplines and at any career level.

Facilities include indoor and outdoor studio space equipped with electric potter’s wheel, electric kiln, and limited ceramic tools, printing press, large movable tables for a variety of work, and a small library. Those who want to do much bigger outdoor works can do so at Wayi Wayi Creatives Village which is an extension of Wayi Wayi Art Studio and Gallery. Here,  we have more outdoor space for much larger work.

We also house, IMBUSA (Bemba tribe marriage ritual symbols). Artists are encouraged to bring additional supplies and materials required to accomplish their work. Lodging is provided in the form of a two-bedroom one bath apartment. Charges are K250.00($14.68)per night per bedspace while residents are responsible for their own meals. Additional charges prevail if you need to have meals with the family. Currently,  breakfast is at K50.00($2.94) lunch at K150.00($8.81)and supper K100.00($5.81) current at current USD rate. We provide free transport from station/Airport to Wayiwayi and by arrangement to the Victoria falls.
